1. M3Oriental: Workshop of Multimodal, Multilingual and Multitask Modeling Technologies for Oriental Languages
In recent years, multilingual speech recognition (ASR) and speech translation (ST) have provided effective communication in global business activities. However, the services for low-resource languages, which more than 50% of the global population speaks, have fallen behind. This workshop aims to investigate effective methods to promote research and explore practical ASR/ST systems for low- resourced languages, especially the languages and dialects people speak in Oriental countries (such as Arabic, Turk, India, Bangladesh, Iran, Mongol, ASEAN countries, Chinese dialectal), by sharing knowledge across multiple languages, multiple modalities, and multiple tasks.
